Generation of Solidarity 2024: 27 cooperatives awarded!
Generation of Solidarity: Empowering Moroccan Youth
The fourth edition of the National Prize “Generation of Solidarity” once again highlighted the dynamism and ingenuity of Moroccan youth, this year under the theme “Youth: Creators of a new generation of cooperatives.”
Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and the Social and Solidarity Economy (MTAES) and the Office of Cooperation Development, the award ceremony recognized 27 cooperatives for their innovative projects and their positive impact on the country’s economic and social development. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Mohamed Msellek, Secretary General of the Ministry of Tourism, Mr. Mohammed Dardouri, Wali coordinator of the INDH, and Ms. Saloua Tajri, director of the promotion of the Social and Solidarity Economy within the MTAES.
Emerging from a pool of 217 projects, these 27 cooperatives, active in sectors as diverse as agriculture, handicrafts, and sustainable tourism, impressed the jury with their strong social and environmental impact. These young cooperators, aged 18 to 35, embody a new generation of cooperatives committed to the economic and social development of their communities.
Since its creation in 2021, the National Prize “Generation of Solidarity” has supported 125 cooperative projects led by young people, granting each a subsidy of 50,000 DH. Thanks to a partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, the ODCO, and key players such as the OCP Foundation, the Regional Councils of Fès-Meknes, Guelmim-Oued-Noun, the Oriental, and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, as well as Jaida, Dar Al Moukawil, CIH Bank, Crédit Agricole, and Copag, this award has been able to recognize this new generation of cooperatives.
