Launch of the 6th edition of the National Prize “ Lalla Al Moutaâouina” for Women’s Cooperatives
"Lalla Al Moutaâouina" National Prize for Women’s Cooperatives is back for 2025 !
The Office of Cooperation Development (ODCO) is proud to announce the launch of the 6th edition of the Lalla Al Moutaaouina National Prize for Women’s Cooperatives. This national prize aims to reward the most innovative initiatives in women’s cooperative projects, as part of the Moroccan government’s ongoing commitment to women’s economic empowerment.
Theme for 2025: “Women’s Cooperatives Build a Better World for All”
This year’s theme resonates with the International Year of Cooperatives’ theme, emphasizing the crucial role of women’s cooperatives in fostering inclusivity, sustainability, and progress for communities worldwide. The theme also underscores how empowering women’s entrepreneurship creates ripple effects that benefit society at large.
A Look Back: The Success of the 5th Edition
Last year, under the theme “Women’s Cooperatives: A Fertile Ground for Promoting Women’s Entrepreneurship”, this edition attracted significant interest, with the participation of 329 women’s cooperatives. Among them, 29 cooperatives stood out for their innovative projects and were selected by a panel of experts during the award ceremony held on Wednesday, April 24, in Rabat.
The “Lalla Al Moutaâouina” prize offers financial support of 50,000 MAD to these award winning cooperatives, thanks to a strong partnership between the State Secretary in charge of handicrafts and the social and solidarity economy affiliated to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and the Social and Solidarity Economy, ODCO, and institutional and private partners.
The Lalla Al Moutaâouina Prize is more than an award—it’s a movement that celebrates the ingenuity, resilience, and impact of Moroccan women in cooperatives.
