In a remarkable commitment to societal progress, the second edition of RBS Social Week commenced with enthusiasm today at the International University of Rabat (UIR). This highly anticipated event, organized in partnership with Rabat Business School and the Office of Cooperation Development  (ODCO), promises to be a pivotal moment for advancing socio-economic development and fostering inclusion within Moroccan society. Under the theme “Civil Society, Inclusion, and Socio-Economic Development,” this year’s RBS Social Week aims to address pressing challenges and explore innovative solutions to promote a more equitable future. The event serves as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing among students, academics, professionals, and policymakers. The opening ceremony witnessed the participation of distinguished dignitaries, including representatives from academic, governmental, and private sectors, who underscored the importance of collective action in driving positive change.

In her opening speech, Madam Aïcha Errifaai, General Director of the Office of Cooperation Development  (ODCO), highlighted the crucial importance of the social economy in the pursuit of a fairer and more equitable future for all.

She emphasized that the social economy is not limited to wealth creation but also seeks to promote solidarity, inclusion, and the well-being of society as a whole. Madam Errifaai delivered an inspiring speech, highlighting the crucial role of the social economy sector in addressing socio-economic challenges and promoting national development agendas.

She expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts that made RBS Social Week possible, highlighting its role as a catalyst for positive change.

Finally, she encouraged participants to seize the opportunity to forge new partnerships, inspire innovative solutions, and collaborate in building a more inclusive and prosperous society.

For the attending students, RBS Social Week holds particular importance. It provides a unique opportunity to broaden their horizons, engage in meaningful discussions on crucial societal issues, and participate in practical workshops focused on socio-economic development. By interacting with experts, professionals, and cooperative representatives, students can gain valuable knowledge, develop their skills, and expand their professional network.

Moreover, the presence of local cooperative exhibitions allows students to firsthand discover entrepreneurial initiatives and innovative products developed by Moroccan cooperatives. This provides them with a concrete perspective on the vital role cooperatives play in the country’s economic and social fabric, while inspiring them to consider future careers focused on the social and solidarity economy.
