Rural Women: ODCO Takes Part in the 18th Edition of Al Moutmir

On the occasion of the International Day of Rural Women, the Office of Cooperation (ODCO) took part in the 18th edition of the Al Moutmir initiative, launched in 2018 by the OCP Group. This event, held at UM6P in Benguerir, highlights the role of agricultural cooperatives — especially those led by women — in fostering sustainable and inclusive development within Morocco’s agricultural sector.

Ms. Aicha Errifaai, Director General of ODCO, participated in the opening panel dedicated to agricultural cooperatives under the theme “Women-led agricultural cooperatives: collective power for sustainable and inclusive agriculture.” She emphasized the strategic role of rural women and engaged in discussions with passionate and committed women entrepreneurs working to advance the cooperative movement in Morocco

Al Moutmir aims to support Moroccan farmers, particularly smallholders, by providing technical and scientific assistance, training programs, soil analyses, and demonstration platforms. The integration of digital solutions, such as the mobile application @tmar, allows farmers to access personalized recommendations, strengthening their autonomy and productivity.

Through collaboration with academic and institutional partners, including UM6P, the Ministry of Agriculture, and INRA, Al Moutmir contributes to modernizing Morocco’s agricultural sector and promoting an innovative, equitable, and resilient agricultural model.

By taking part in this initiative, ODCO reaffirms its commitment to empowering rural women and supporting women-led cooperatives, thereby contributing to building a sustainable and inclusive agricultural future for Morocco.
