The Office of Cooperation Development (ODCO) and the association Injaz Al Maghrib signed an agreement on Monday, May 27, 2024, marking the launch of the “Cooperative Valorization and Support Program – TaawouNYA Project”.
This initiative aims to transform the landscape of Moroccan cooperatives by offering them comprehensive support and enhancing their capacities for better market competitiveness.
Objectives and Actions of the TaawouNYA Project
The TaawouNYA project, in partnership with the INJAZ Al Maghrib Association on behalf of the Al Mada Foundation, offers a comprehensive support framework designed to help cooperatives structure themselves and develop projects aligned with market needs. The goal is to address the structural weaknesses of cooperatives, promote their sustainability, and encourage their sustainable development.
Key actions of this program include:
Targeted Regions and Implementation
The project targets several strategic regions of Morocco:
The implementation process will unfold in several phases:
1. Identification of beneficiary cooperatives and needs assessment
2. Training and support
3. Assistance with project development and prototyping
4. Support for financing and post-financing
The project aims to target 1,000 cooperatives, improving their skills in financial management, strategic planning, governance, marketing, communication, and fundraising. It also aims to increase the financial viability of cooperatives, improve their internal governance, and develop local and national networks for resource and expertise sharing. Finally, the project aims to form at least four cooperative unions to facilitate their market access.
